About FastFlags
FastFlags started with a simple frustration: look up what a flag's colors or symbols mean and you'll find half a dozen sites repeating the same folklore, with no mention of the law, decree or designer that actually established the flag. We wanted one place that shows its work.
So that's the idea. It's free, there's nothing to sign up for, and every page tells you where its information comes from.
Where our facts and drawings come from
Adoption dates, proportions and official color specifications come from statutes, constitutional provisions, government flag manuals and established vexillological references. Flag artwork and structured metadata draw on public-domain and open datasets, checked against official specifications before publication.
How we check history and symbolism
Every flag page cites its sources and gets a second check against them before it goes live. When the meaning of a color or charge was set by law, we quote or cite that law; when a popular explanation was attached decades later, we say so plainly instead of passing it off as the original intent.
